I am delighted to announce the upcoming Ten Tors training event on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th November. Well, when I say announce- it’s been in the calendar for months, so…
We are planning to have an overnight camp in order to accustom all participants not only with sleeping outside, but also the equipment and the rigours of harsh winter conditions. Even though the Ten Tors weekend is not until mid-May (12th-13th), there is a genuine risk of the overnight conditions being very similar to those which we will experience on this upcoming camp.
For this training event, participants are expected to have with them 2 sets of clothing, full waterproofs, sturdy walking boots, 2 water bottles (preferably not thin plastic), sleeping bag, sleeping mat, gloves and hat. All of these details, along with all other future notes, can also now be found at; http://edgehillcollege.typepad.com/ten_tors/ Both participants and pupils are encourage to add comments on this site from now on!
We will be leaving school at 6.30pm on the Saturday, and will hopefully have returned there by 1.00pm. Unfortunately, however, this can only be a guide.
All pupils will need to bring with them food for dinner, breakfast and lunch. I will be giving them recommendations, which are available below.
I would be very grateful if you could return the slip on the original letter (or a note to the effect) to me by Monday 19th November so that I can finalise transport and logistics details.
Many thanks,
Mr Fuller
